The kick-off session of IMPACT had lots of high volume music and flashy graphics... the comedian, Frank Caliendo had us in stiches at times.
The Kaiser Permanante story was quite impressive! They have the single biggest (civilian) electronic medical records (EMR) system in the world. Its what they do with the data that really sets them apart. They are using it for predictive analytics They are able to PREVENT hospitalization of Diabetes patients by 50% and REDUCE ERRORS in prescriptions by 57%. html_removed html_removed

Some very interesting sessions on Healthcare Industry. Wow! A lot of the members in the audience (by show of hands) are not even thinking of ICD-10... they are tied down with just HIPAA 5010 this year and next. Lots of opportunity to help out there!
The Future of Work panel session was very interesting! Lombardi President Phil Gilbert and GBS VP Manoj Saxena had great ideas.
Our panel discussion was wonderful! Very motivated speakers and dedicated participants. You know the audience is hard-core when just a few show up to your session which competes in time slot with the free bar and reception! So what we did is move the panel down from the stage... we pulled some chairs into a big circle and had the most interesting conversations. Once we got into the flow, folks were surprised when I announced that it was time to wind down - that was special and unusual experience. Later, someone said all it lacked was a campfire in the middle of the circle! I really enjoyed being the Moderator. Thank you, Panel Members:
Yvette Cameron, Saba
Jes Sherborne, ZS Associates
Lynn Winiarczyk, Sodexho
Cliff Ovadia,
Long discussion with Cliff Ovadia (Cliff on Linkedin) on selling our software to the Business rather than IT. Cliff is passionate about his work and I liked the energy with which he communicates. Good to see SWG actually has a "Tiger Team" that does that now.
