I just ran a security configuration report, on my WebSphere8 installation. All the security settings are default.It came to 45 pages in my PDF Why i'm posting it is .. it gives a good idea on what are the default settings in WebSphere application server for different security configurations and what has been changed from the previous versions.

Just saw on the announcement page that, I'm one of the top contributors on WUG and rewarded with something. So, decided to do something exclusive to WUG and came up with "WebSphere Application Server Security - Visual cookbook" yes .. this new project, which i'm planning to write for a longtime ... but now started working on it. The Book will have 9 chapters: Book will be as my regular blogging standards .. everything on the book will be explained with the help of detailed steps and screenshots. Should be available on WebSphere User Group by mid of July 2011... if everything goes smooth. It will be PDF file and free to download.

Hi I'm presently preparing a new series of tutorials on WebSphere Flexible Management which was introduced in v7. The tutorials focus is on creating a Job Manager [JM], connecting a DMGR with JM and then doing the administration tasks like deployments,start,stop,create etc.. using the JM. One of the new features in WebSphere Application server v8 is that, if you are not using WebSphere MQ functionality in it, you can disable it so that you can save the processing and reduce the footprint of the server.
