BPM Discover and Design for Greater Insights 3D Animation Yesterday’s best in class is not good enough. Tomorrow’s leading organizations need to fuel new growth while optimizing costs and driving greater business agility, and to do so, they are strategically focusing on the business processes that are the everyday expression of their companies’ visions. This video shows how collaborative process discovery and modeling helps companies discover and design innovative solutions that better manage core business processes like order-to-cash, which are the lifeblood of a company. It looks at Best Home Store, a home improvement retail company struggling to keep up with its competitors, and how it used IBM BPM to bolster top line growth, reduce costs and improve customer service. Remaining agile in our rapid-fire marketplace means aligning business strategy, business process management, and service oriented architecture technology, along with business rules, events and analytics, to help companies achieve better business outcomes. For more information, contact Sophia Lopez. New BPM Blog posts from BPM BlueWorks In June, 2010, the OMG Architecture Board approved the finalization of the BPMN 2.0 specification. The agility imperative for modern enterprises is not only to change fast but rather to enable the right changes at the right time and in the right way. Cloud computing continues to be a topic of interest and confusion. In this blog, Max discusses the differences between public and private clouds and when businesses should choose one over the other. Chris Anderson refers to "selling more of everything" as the long tail of demand - see Amazon and Netflix and their ability to stock and profit enormously mainly from titles that will never generate enough demand to make it worth while for a brick and mortar store chain to carry them. Well the answer to this question is - it depends. It depends on how it can contribute towards achieving your enterprise’s strategy and goals. This, in large part, will influence what your CoE looks like and the functions it will perform. Reading blogs and articles and reports these days, one could easily think that being successful in the post recession business environment is all about being fast…well, let us examine that perception closer. How do we overcome the tribal nature of a complex organization and evolve to a nation, working together towards common goals based on each our specialties and skills? A prime example of this is that once BPM and EA practitioners recognize the need to work together for better business outcomes, then it becomes much easier to set up appropriate collaboration patterns for guiding and governing change. Application Environment Migration with WebSphere CloudBurst In this tutorial, the authors demonstrate how to use WebSphere® CloudBurst to build patterns you can use to represent the configuration of both your application and application infrastructure. They also show you how to use these patterns to consistently deploy the application environment as it moves through the four lifecycle stages — development, test, QA, and production. The tutorial offers a complete, step-by-step example of using patterns to handle changing topologies, underlying platform architectures, and configuration properties.
